How to get there?
In the centre of the Netherlands between Zwolle and Harderwijk
Elburg is situated in the centre of the Netherlands, about an hour’s drive from Utrecht. Northwest of Elburg you find the Veluwemeer and Drontermeer. Southeast Elburg adjoins the Veluwe national parc.
Elburg is easily reached by public transport, by bike, over water or by car.
By car
Many people choose to visit Elburg by car which is perfectly possible via the A28 from the South, junction 15 Epe. From the North junction 16 ‘t Harde. From the polder via the N309. Parking outside the fortified town is still free of charge, with exception of event days. Inside the town parking is restricted to 1 hour using a parking disc.

By train and bus
The most advised connection is via Zwolle Central station. From there you take the Syntus Streekbus 100 direction Nunspeet. Get off at the Centre Elburg bus stop and you can walk straight into the old fortified town.
Coming from Nunspeet train station you take the Syntus Streekbus 100 in the direction of Zwolle.
Cycle along pastures and water
Elburg is situated in a perfect cycling area. From Nunspeet you cycle along the Veluwemeer and Drontermeer. Superb views over polder landscape and water make this cycling tour a real treat. You can find Elburg via the special cycling route (fietsknooppuntenroute) 02, 03 and 30. Cycling maps kan be bought at the Information Centre VVV Elburg.
