The National Organ Museum
More information
The National Organ Museum is the only museum in the Netherlands about the history of the pipe organ. The museum houses an impressive collection of mostly playable historical instruments and organ parts, from the middle Ages to the present day. The museum was founded in 1977 by the local principal organist of the Grote of St. Nicolaaskerk and has since grown into a leading museum about the organ. In addition to attention to special instruments and the development of the Dutch organ, there is also a room specially designed for the person at the keys: the organist.
There are free concerts every month and during the summer holidays weekly. For children there is a treasure hunt through the museum. Group tours with organ playing can be requested via the e-mail address of the museum.
